joyful and uplifting
Spending a day at the Keukenhof was a highlight of our European trip! In fact, we liked it so much that we decided to return several days later for another long walk amidst the extraordinary colors. The combi-ticket, which buses you from Amsterdam or Haarlem right to the front door, makes it convenient and easy to visit. The landscapes are thoughtfully and creatively envisioned fresh each year, and the entire garden layout is designed to allow for a comfortable, accessible day of beauty. Pavilions give you an opportunity to learn the names of tulip varieties, there are multiple restaurants and gift shops, waterways and playgrounds--something for everyone.

Awesome
Had a wonderful day here and enjoyed the arrangements. Go in the morning so there’s more room to walk around and take pictures. I bought a combi ticked (bus and entrance) - a good idea. Not very enjoyable food, but the coffee is nice. So beautiful flowers, well worth a visit!

Amazing
We were 2 days ago. (19 April). The flowers and garden are amazing, a lot of flower varieties. We bought tickets in advance on internet and went on ourself by bus 854 from Leida. We didn't wait a lot for the bus. It wasn't the queue to entrance at all. This is very organized. In Holland have very useful app 9292 for public transport. In the garden were thousands people, a lot of organized groups. I wanted to buy bulbs but now it's too late, it's possible to buy plants in pots. I recommend it, it was worth going there.

Amazing
This garden is one of the best gardens you can go to. It’s gorgeous! It’s huge! It is crowded especially in the morning. Take the 852 bus to get there. You can find found and gift shops there.

Spectacular place to spend a day
Stunning grounds with lots of amazing photo opportunities. Loved the displays and varieties on offer. Even the rain couldn’t put a dampener on our day. Plenty of places to eat. Would recommend a trip on the whisper boat. Very peaceful.

Lots of fun
Beautiful place. Saw flowers I have never seen before, parking and entry was a breeze! This is not a tour of the flower fields. This is a beautiful manicured garden. Food, music, dry cool. The photos make it seem like you’re going to the fields. Is that is what ya want. This is not it but fantastic.

Wow, wow and WOW!
Absolutely stunning and amazing for the annual tulip festival. This was overwhelming in a good way. We were blown away by the sheer size and number of tulips all planted in gorgeous displays across this huge property. Great indoor exhibits as well as food and beverage and shopping opportunities. We absolutely loved it!!

Riot of colours
We ordered this tour well in advance and everything worked like clock work. You travel by bus from Leiden to Keukenhof. There was lots of people but the organisation worked very well. The whole garden is a wonder which one does not expect. The riot of flours cannot be explained in words. The variety of colours, flowers and plants boggles the mind. Put a day aside and get lost in the wonder of nature. Can understand that the information is that 7,000,000 bulbs are planted by hand, every year. Thank you for a very special highlight of our visit to the Netherlands

Do park and cycle round the fields. Arrive by bike if you can!
Really enjoyed the day, went on a Friday, around 9am entry. Wasn’t too busy at that time, when we left at 2pm there were more people. Stayed at a hotel locally and arrived by bike - would definitely recommend as there were so many cars and queues on the road to arrive and get into the car park. We cycled from Lisse on a cycle path that shadowed the motorway but was in a field next to, so completely safe and not unpleasant. What I didn’t expect is the little paths like stepping stones in a few places, a big playground and a petting zoo for kids. Tulips and park were lovely, enjoyed the hot waffle. The day wasn’t perfect weather and the boat had no protection and seats were wet when we got in so take something to sit on! We had waterproof trousers and despite looking silly we were the only ones not shivering by the end! The commentary was a bit light for what I was expecting, and also my headset didn’t work and I thought the speaker hadn’t started(were told would be after 4-5 mins anyway) so missed the intro. For €10 I’m not sure the boat was completely worth it, but equally maybe you miss out if you don’t! I would be happier to recommend if there was more information given, there were cushion on the seat or umbrellas/capes given out to those poor people without protection or a roof than can be put on on wet days. We then cycled around the fields afterwards, initially we weren’t sure how to pick a route, then the bike rental gave us a map and we realised there are 3 routes. We had e bikes so did the long route and was really nice to have the contrast of the san dunes also and there were much fewer tourists on that part of the route - I think most tend to do the short one. There were some people who maybe don’t cycle much and are a bit wobbly - and definitely a safe route if that is you, but bear in mind if you want to cycle off that the pace is slower on the little route part.

Large Tulip Garden
Large The Tulip flower garden , very easy to reach by public transportation. The facilities inside are also very complete, restaurants, kiosks, etc. The tulip collection is very complete.

Well worth a visit
We booked the option with bus transfer from Amsterdam. Reading other reviews, I am pleased that we decided to book for a bus at 10.00. It was busy, and raining at the time, but we waited less than 10 minutes. The park is definitely worth visiting. It is huge, with stunning displays of tulips and other bulbs. There are cafes with indoor and outdoor seating, plus exhibition halls with interesting displays. All staff were smartly dressed and helpful. However my 13 year-old grandson soon tired of tulips! So probably not an ideal trip for that age group.

Flowers , yes. Biking, no.
This is hands down the best place to experience the famous flowers of Holland. But, go early in the day. It gets very very crowded! I rented bikes and that was not such a rewarding experience. My bike was not such a great quality and very uncomfortable. What you saw on bike was not that great. I would not recommend renting a bike to see the fields unless you just enjoy biking, but bring your own bike! Using their transportation was seamless!

Gorgeous Tulips and More
We visited the Keukenhof Gardens last week, and even with the slight rain we had upon arrival when the park opened at 8am, the gardens exceeded every expectation!! Highly recommend arriving early before the crowds begin. We were blown away by the magnificent display upon entry. Over 7 million bulbs with so many varieties! Be sure to visit all of the pavilions to see the indoor displays as well. Willem-Alexander has rows and rows of gorgeous flowers indoors!! Beatrix has an Orchid room and Anthurium room. Oranje Nassau had all kinds of roses. We enjoyed coffee and Dutch apple pie at Wilhelmina. Don’t miss the windmill and farm animals. We loved our time at Keukenhof Gardens so much!! Only open March 21 thru May 12th this year!! Don’t miss it!

Worth a visit!
Beautiful gardens and gorgeous flowers but it was terribly crowded! I booked to go from Schiphol as I was staying in Utrecht. I suggest tht you go early if you can to avoid the crowds and one must definitely book ahead!

Fantastic gardens
The Keukenhof is a stunning garden and well worth visiting (when it is open), I will add it was super busy and we had to wait an hour for the bus home. There are loads of cafes/shops in the garden so you'll have plenty of chance to take in the views with a drink.

Simply the best (during the spring!!
I would recommend to stay locally near Lisse and enjoy the beach nearby and get the local bus 90 to Keukenhof gardens OR come straight from Amsterdam via buses etc. We first went to Keukenhof during the 1995 spring and I had such positive dream like memories of it as a child, finally decided to do a return there and it was truly extraordinary- the gardens are certainly up there as one of the world's finest. We managed to walk 21900 steps without getting very tired- as the tulips were a continuous inspiration. We took the whisper boat, with was enjoyable even if not all the tulips had bloomed/opened fully. It was still magnificent. We enjoyed the 75th year of the gardens and the exhibition at Juliana was a nice addition to the wonderful flowers.

So beautiful
These gardens are so beautiful, so many colours, but be aware in peak times there is many visitors here and it can get crowded

Avoid Keukenhof Express, but do go to Keukenhof!
Keukenhof gardens themselves, 5* Lots of other reviews will be more poetic, but it was v.clean, well maintained, flowers were spectacular and plenty space even if there are thousands of people around! HOWEVER, beware the Keukenhof Express from Amsterdam RAI / Europaplein - they are supposed to have timed tickets for the coaches to Keukenhof, that is nonsense; you get there and the staff say "just join the line, doesn't matter what time on ticket", so you join the massive queues (took us about 1h10m to get on the coach and that was standing room only!). For the way back, it was slightly better: they said that buses left every ten minutes ... but there was still another big queue and a 45minute wait. Both queues were poorly managed, with a few dodgers pushing in and it was difficult to tell where the queue was and for which bus? I would definitely visit Keukenhof Gardens again, but I would not recommend their approved Keukenhof Express coach run by Arriva.

See the Gardens!
What a beautiful village! Peaceful and breathtaking 360°. What a magical day we had! I wish we had done the Canal Ride while we were at the Gardens but we ran out of time. We got to do the hedge maze though! :)

Tulip Paradise
Caught the bus from Amsterdam Rai for the 8:30am slot on a Saturday in early April. The bus took around 35 mins to get there. It wasn't too busy when I arrived just after 9 and I got some breakfast (cost me around €7 for a small black coffee and vegan brownie). The gardens had enough to see you could easily spend a whole day in the area. I'd recommend visiting earlier on as it does get busy around midday and will be harder to get cute pictures. The gardens smell lovely and will be a visual treat. Lots of different food options scattered around the gardens too. I wanted to hire a bike and ride around the nearby tulip fields but unfortunately the tulips outside of the garden weren't in full bloom yet. Top tip if you are catching the bus back to a city, make sure you give yourself plenty of time! It was a long wait and a long queue and this can waste a lot of time.

Gorgeous flowers
I’ve been many times to see the flowers. Each visit is different. This visit will stand out for me. We arrived at 8 am as they opened. We were able to enjoy without crowds. So many photo opportunities with no people around. It was very cold on the boat tour. And somewhat difficult to get good pictures of the tulips. We were caution to stay seated, but that really didn’t happen. Might have been a little early for great viewing from the boats.

Fabulous feast for the senses!
A must see for flower lovers! It’s been on my travel list for so long and I’m so happy that I finally managed to go. It exceeded my expectations and was stunning. There were lots of cafes and toilet facilities which were spread throughout the park. We pre-booked the tickets with a combination of coach and admission and I’d recommend doing this. It was easy to find and get the coach and was a stress free experience. I thought it was very good value for money.

Amazing
Everything was beautifully manicured and in peak bloom today. Amazing varieties and so much more than just tulips! Food at the restaurants was good. Recommend getting there early to enjoy the smaller crowds. By noon it was quite busy, but still okay to get around and not feel claustrophobic.

Well worth a visit but allow extra time to get there.
Beautiful displays of tulips and other spring flowers, lots of different areas with some more formal and others more natural. There are lots of places to eat and drink with short queues, even when the park is busy. We got a transfer from Amsterdam RAI, booked on the Keukenhof website. It was well organised but absolutely heaving - we arrived at our allotted time (10:00) but there was a huge queue for the bus, I think we would have waited about 45 minutes if we hadn’t agreed to stand on the bus (and therefore jumped the queue). The bus was really slow too as the traffic was really heavy as we got close - allow extra time in your schedule as you may not get there when you plan! There were big crowds at the park but you could find areas that were quieter. We liked the Irene area where the cafe had plenty of seats and there was a mechanical organ playing. The map was fine but there weren’t really any descriptions for different areas (other than the maze, playground, cafes etc.). We visited on 6th April and most of the flowers were out, a few had already gone over. I think it was perfect timing!

Beautiful flower garden
All types of beautiful flowers, tons of small creeks, and 2 beautiful fountains. You can even walk on water! Well, kinda. Seeing everything takes 3-4 hours. Tons of opportunities for photos too! Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice afternoon.

A must
Out of this world experience. Not to be missed. Make sure you visit in April when tulips are in full bloom. A park like no other.

See the gardens - rain or shine!
Excellent place to walk around - whether there’s rain or sunshine in the forecast! This is such a beautiful place with unique exhibits every year. This was my second visit and worth the time!

A must see for a spring visit
We visited at the start of April and it was beautiful. So many wonderful displays and wonderful colours. Hyacinths smelt amazing and they and the daffodils were all over too. Everywhere you looked it was oh that’s lovely. The whole place is well thought out and constructed. Map and signage really useful and lots of great exhibits and buildings dotted around the site. Great walkways. Lovely photo opportunities. Windmill was great and a lovely boat with tulips on you could sit in too. Lots of oversized clogs ❤️ Great souvenirs reasonably priced. Food and drinks expensive but seems to be the case everywhere in Amsterdam. We booked in advance and had the ticket for bus too from outside the RAI.

Beautiful day in Keukenhof
The flowers are so beautiful and there were many nice water installations. There is also a very nice park for people with kids and dogs. Getting here was a whole other story… for a tour that costs €31 the bus was over crowded and we had to stand for the 30 minutes it took to get there. DONT GO TO THE Willem-Alexander food hall!!! Which is in the middle of the park the rice was cold and crunchy in the poke bowl. There was no flavour to the bowl besides the dollop of sauce that they forgot to put on the bowl. It was a lovely day overall but we’re still hungry.

Gorgeous must see!
Gorgeous! A huge flowerscape of color and shape. It opens in late March and we went on April 4. Plenty of flowers blooming but chilly! If you have a choice you might go a little later in the season. The whisper boat ride was worth it but, again, very cold!
Apr 5, 2024Scooby1812
Stunning
The gardens and pavilions are stunning. We did the boat trip on 4th April and we were very disappointed - very little to see at this time of year - not much colour. What you see from the Windmill gives you an idea of what you will see from the boat! Maybe better later in the season. But the rest of the gardens were so beautiful. We spent a whole day here, and also spent time in the more wild and natural woodlands sections. Lots of shops too for your souvenir needs. We were told NO CASH so had to pay by card for a €2 postcard. The sun shone so it was a lovely day. First visit in over 25 years but well worth going back.

Beautiful!
A wonderful place to visit. Lots to see and do both indoors and outdoors. The shops and restaurants were also worth the visit.
Apr 4, 2024I_am_wander-luster
Great if sunny but harder to enjoy in the rain with bored tweens
Very busy, crowded especially on a rainy day. There’s a playground for younger children but not much for tweens. The flowers are beyond superlatives & the grounds are immaculate but harder to enjoy in the rain & when children are bored of looking at flowers & they want to run around but there’s nowhere to go in the rain!

Keukenhof Tulips Amsterdam April 2024
If you are in Holland when the tulips are in bloom then visit this place. It is great, it’s like a show the flowers are fantastic. The s as amenities are good and are located all around the place. There is a canal tour round the tulip fields, look out points, a windmill, shops to buy bulbs, it’s great and is worth a visit. They do have some animals and a play area for younger people.

A must see in the spring!
This is a must-see if you are in the Netherlands in spring. We were there at the end of March and 75% of the flowers were blooming. I was able to rent a wheel for 5 euros since I was on crutches and that made it easy to cover the whole park. We took the bus from Leiden since we’re staying in The Hague. Easy to get to and well-planned. Loved it!

Tulip mania
We visited keukenhof at end of March after its one week opening for visit. 3/4 of the tulips blossomed. We were so delighted to be surrounded by varieties of tulips ! It’s worth a visit if you happen to visit Netherlands during the blossoms.

A unique and unforgettable experience.
Amazing place, very organized, the bus takes us all the way to the entrance from the station in central Amsterdam. Beautiful, spectacular views of the flowers and the bike ride around the park provides even better views of the fields. A unique and unforgettable experience.

Over the top good!
Keukenhof Gardens was a walking wonderland of spring. Open for a mere 8 weeks each spring season, timing up the blooming of daffodils and tulips, Keukenhof is not to be missed. The gardens are laid out in a way that even the largest of crowds are easily dispersed. Colourful displays of assorted tulips and other springtime flowers created an array of fantasy for even none flower lovers. There were several indoor garden shows, along with many eating locations, an active windmill which you can walk up, bicycle rentals and a boat ride. Plan on a couple of hours to stroll the grounds and picture taking.

Such a beautiful place
We visited Keukenhof for the first time on Friday. Such a beautiful garden and a must visit when in Netherlands. It was full, but still easy to move around, and there are plenty of places to sit and get something to eat and drink.

Lovely but don’t get food there
Tulips are lovely - I can imagine in a couple of weeks it will be a blaze of colour. Food in the main cafes is awful and overpriced - visit the food trucks instead
Mar 31, 2024silviavI3953KX
Overall good but the bus transport is badly organized
We went on with the prebook bus option. Although it says you have to strictly follow your timeslot, we went running and taking an uber to the bus, so eventually not saving any money, to find out that it doesn’t matter at what time you booked, there was a huge 1 hour queue in the cold. Worse for the return as we waited more then an hour to get on a bus and travel in the traffic standing, when supposedly there were sitting tickets only. So the organization of transport is bad but the place is worth it. Overall very good hence the transport.

A blaze of colour well worth a visit
The two months when the flowers are in bloom at Keuchenhof is well worth a visit. The well manicured gardens on the flat paths make snaking your way round from the windmill to the lake a real pleasure. The senses are not only experiencing the riot of col but also the perfume from the hyacinth beds is magnificent.
Mar 30, 2024user1029
Beautiful but busy!
A lovely experience with many tulips (and other flowers) in bloom even though we went early in the season. The only negative was the queue for the bus…even though we were pre-booked and given a departure time, it seemed a free for all once you got to the pick up point. Apart from that, and having to stand on the overcrowded bus both there and back, it was great.
Mar 30, 2024blally
Absolutely Stunning
The best garden we have ever seen. Ignore anyone that tells you this is not worth seeing. Was it cold, yes. Was it crowded, yes. Was it worth it, absolutely! Recommend getting to the park early to avoid the midday crowds. We arrived at 8am and had the place to ourselves for the first hour. Even though it was early in the season, much was still in blooom. It took use around 3 hours to make it around the entire grounds but we were blown away. If you are considering going, just do it.

Fabulous visit.
Fabulous place to visit. We went on the 21st March & we managed to get about 3 seasons of weather in the one day. We boarded the ferry to catch the coach, very easy but when we got off the ferry it was hailstones. We had a break from those as they only lasted a very short while then we had rain & if you blinked you may have missed the sun. It was so cold we went to the shop & bought a hat & gloves. The flowers were beautiful & the undercover displays were very colourful & looked gorgeous. The cafe wasn’t too busy & cake & coffee very nice. Already getting organised to book next year but will leave it a couple of weeks later so hopefully it won’t be so cold. Been twice before but can’t help but to keep re visiting. Everyone should go if they can.

Booking ticket and bus combo from the Keukenhof website
Very nice time to visit, there are even cherry blossoms! High recommended! Just some soundbites about the bus... I booked the ticket and bus combo from the Keukenhof website and had to select a bus timing. Rushed to the bus boarding location to get there on time. However, discovered the time you booked the bus does not matter!? Everyone joins a long queue and takes the next bus that is available... hmmh. Also, while the bus trip is not that long, the seats are quickly taken up and if you prefer not to stand on the bus, just wait for the next bus. Note, where you are waiting to board the bus (I boarded from RAI) and also when you are waiting for the return bus at Keukenhof, there is no shelter.

Must see and experience Keukenhof Gardens!
We visited Keukenhof Gardens on the first day they were open in March 2024. We bought tickets, parking and booklet prior to arrival. They were extremely organized with parking and entry was a breeze. The flowers and scenery were gorgeous. They also had performances that were entertaining. This is a must see if you are in the Netherlands and lucky enough to be visiting during tulip season.

Keukenhof
Alpt of the flowers had bloomed but April is probably better as they would all be in full bloom by then! Flowers were amazing to see

Great gardens poor food
Beautiful gardens well worth a visit to see the spring flowers. The only thing that let's them down is the food. Without doubt the worst food we have experienced in the Netherlands and way over priced. Wished we had brought our own food, they must know the poor offering they are serving to their guests!

Only if you like flowers!
Nice concept. Additional charges for boat ride and other experiences. Worth a visit. Very well kept. Maybe more indication and signage would be helpful. Coffee shops get very full and difficult to find seating. Souvenir shops overpriced. The fields on the outside look like good photo shoot spots. Booked tickets on get your guide and also included the 3 day unlimited travel tickets. Was well worth it!
