Nice gardens, but got crowded quickly, despite the weather!
Not going to go too much into it, plenty of other reviews saying the same thing. Great gardens, clearly a lot of effort goes into maintaining the location. Its not a particularly cost effect trip, nor is it overly expensive, just a bit on the steeper side. We paid for the inclusive bus transfer from Amsterdam Rai. Even though it is timed, they might be visible when they scan you QR code, but it felt a little 1st come 1st served. Bus service was fine. We found that with some visitors, they were definitely on the "entitled" side, stepping over barriers and pushing other people out of the way to take photos. Spoils the experience with this sense of entitlement. We arrived early, arriving at about 8:45, when it was relatively quiet, we would recommend arriving as early as possible, as by about midday, the hoards of people spoiled it a bit. All in all, a decent (half) day out. We left at about 2pm or so.

So amazing. Can not miss this!!
This exceeded my expectation by 10x. The picture don’t do it justice. It was so beautiful all the tulips varieties and other flowers. You can roam for hours. We took a boat ride too. We hit tail end if the flowers and they had some storms so a lot of the fields were already cut BUT it was still worth it! Each bulb is planted by hand each year. So incredible. If you are there for the 6 weeks, you have to go!!

NOT CLOSED UNTIL MAY 12TH...Open until then and then it closes
First...Tripadvisor site shows the Keukenhof is temporarily closed until May 12...NOT TRUE! It is open until that day and then closed! OK....We loved Keukenhof for the third time now over about 5 years. To be honest, you can't take enough pictures and to post them online but...they don't do it justice! You have to be there and experience it. Today, April 30 was FULL of people...thousands of people! It was great! It took awhile to "go with the flow" but, I did and slowed down to a slower pace than I wanted. The gardens are unbelievable and SO beautiful! I'll be back again; I hope. Everyone was smiling and taking pictures and having such a good time.

Tulips and tulips
The flowers were beautiful and plentiful. The crowds were overwelling. There didn't seem to be a limit on how many people could squeeze into a shop or a food line. The boat ride was very nice and relaxing. The weather was perfect on our day so that was a real plus. There were many varieties of flowers that were not actually for sale, just display. That was disappointing. We were able to purchase a nice selection, but would have like several others that were not. Would recommend going earlier than end of April, since alot of the flowers were already cut off by now, but still worth the trip.

Breathtakingly Beautiful, but busy
The tulip gardens are stunningly beautiful, at every turn there are huge swathes of different colours and varieties and the park itself is vast so there is a lot to see. Would have liked more info on the flowers. By the afternoon it was unbearably busy so would recommend going first thing.

A must if you love flowers
We booked a trip that included a bus and entry ticket. Fortunately we chose to arrive what we thought was early at 9.30 am but even then it was extrremely busy. Maps are available at the entrance but it is just as easy to walk around and admire the amazing flowers that are displayed. Obviously some have bloomed and some are still to bloom but the colours and layout are brilliant. Learning about how Kuekenhof works was very interesting. Plenty of places to get refreshments and restrooms. Busy Busy place but would recommend arriving early as the traffic build up around the area when we left about midday ws very bad

This is what heaven must be like. Absolutely Amazing! Must See.
This is what heaven must be like. Absolutely Amazing! My mother and I went to see this in late April and we were both fully blown away. We got there at opening time at 8am and that was really worth it as the first hour for us was really quiet and we got to experience the flowers in silence and listen to the birds. We pre-purchased our tickets online prior but there doesn't seem to be a limit on numbers and we saw people buying tickets at the front gate. Everything was really perfect. The numbers of flowers, the way that they were arranged, and how they were integrated into the landscape with trees, streams, ponds, bridges, and sculptures. Truly amazing! We spent 7.5 hours there and felt that we saw most of the area. We laughed a bit at the petting zoo, which seemed to have one really dirty sheep and two goats but we really came for the flowers. Tickets were about $20 Canadian per person, which was incredibly cheap for what you get--tremendous value for that price. The whisper boat was about 45 minutes and cost something like $25 Canadian per person and it was well worth it. A good chance to sit down after a lot of walking! The electric boat took us away from the treed ground of Keukenhof and out in the tulip fields where there were row upon row of various colored tulips in large fields that went on for hundreds of metres. It was really astonishing and totally worth it. They provide recorded tours in multiple languages on headphones. We stopped several times for tea, snacks and had lunch. There is are about 12 different shops on the grounds that sell souvenirs and provide drinks and food and pretty reasonable prices. Overall for the entire day with entrance, whisperboat, snacks, a few small souvenirs, drinks, and lunch I spent about $155 Canadian (about 100 Euros). 10/10 I would go back again and again and again.

Spectacular Keukenhof
Visiting Keukenhof is one of the best things I've ever done! The gardens were much bigger than I expected and the tulips were truly unbelievable - I had no idea there were so many varieties. It's just spectacular! We went on a cold, wet morning and booked for the 8am bus from Europaplein. I had contemplated changing our booking to the afternoon when the weather was due to improve but I am so glad I didn't! Arriving early in the morning, there weren't many people about and it was easy to get great photos, there were no queues for the coffee shops or for the lovely souvenir shops. The rain was intermittent but there's good cover in the park as well as a couple of large halls where you can duck into so really don't worry too much if the weather forecast is grim. You're allowed to take food and drink in and there are loads of benches all over the park where you can sit and eat. We didn't experience any crazy bus queues as mentioned in previous comments; perhaps because we went early. However there is no bus specifically designated for each time slot ie. there is no 8am bus - you just arrive on time and stand in line until the bus arrives but they are frequent. We spent about 4hrs there and I think the cost of the ticket (€37) which included the return bus trip, was great value. There was nothing I didn't like about Keukenhof.

Simply Stunning
We've visited Keukenhof gardens once before (in late March) and we were a bit too early. While it's clearly weather dependant, mid April seems the perfect time to go. It's hard to get away from the phrase "sunning" - millions of (primarily) tulips beautifully laid out. High quality displays in the greenhouses add to the experience. It was very busy (Tuesday), but that's to be expected I guess. Friendly, helpful staff, nice food on offer.

Tulips
A must see during mid April to early May. Rain or shine. It was a bit chilly and rainy, however plenty of places to get under cover.

Majestic Place to Visit
The wonderful display of flowers , particularly the tulips are what makes this attraction a must see during this particular type of season. Different tulip varieties scattered in a certain radius in this expansive garden. A half day stay would suffice to further appreciate its beauty. Certain restaurants and coffee shops are inside. As well as shops selling souvenirs and seedlings.

Perfect day!
Absolutely gorgeous! You must go at least once in your life. This was my fourth time and I’ll go back in another 2 or 3 years!

If you love flowers then this is a must visit
Well what can you say but amazing. The most incredible tulip displays you'll ever see. Easy to get to with the combined bus and entry ticket and takes only 30 minutes from Europaplein on special buses.

Beautiful Tulip Garden
If you're in Amsterdam March-May you have to visit!! We got the public transport bus from Schipol airport, it was a little tricky to find the bus stop, and be mindful there could be a long queue so I would arrive at least 1hr before your park ticket time. The staff at the bus stop and in the park were great and super helpful. The park its self was huge, and beautiful and had plenty of gift shops. There was even a chance to order tulips and have them shipped to pretty much anywhere in the world for a fee. This was a great touch and I really appreciate this as we were unable to bring living plants home! I would recommend packing a packed lunch as the food prices are a little high, and not always somewhere to sit especially if the rain starts! Overall lovely experience and would recommend to anyone.

Beautiful spring garden not to be missed!
Beautiful garden filled with tulips, daffodils, other bulbs, and spring blooms. The park is well laid out and easy to navigate. Complimentary Msp is provided when you enter. Multiple grab and go food options throughout the park. There are also two pavilions that have flower shows that are worth checking out. I booked the bus and park ticket and pickup from the airport was efficient- note that the bus is about a .20 walk from the train/airport station. I would highly recommend if you are in Amsterdam from late March to the first week of May.

Dutch Display Garden
We visited the famous Keukenhof Gardens in the first week of April. It was windy & chilly but we saw thousands of blooming tulips. Our Dutch friends told us this very narrow area is where sandy soil from the North Sea meets clay soil from the Rhein River- that this meeting place is one of the region’s in which to grow tulips. Be sure to buy your tickets on line before visiting, the lines can be very long. We did rent bicycles & rode around the growing fields. We highly recommend these gardens. We did not use a tour group, since we stayed in Haarlem is was an easy 30 drive in our rental car. There are marked Keukenhof buses at the Haarlem train station.

Amazing display of tulips
We toured these gardens as part of a river boat cruise. We spent most of our time in the main pavilion where hundreds of varieties of tulips were on display along with daffodils and others. Outside there were many pathways to leisurely stroll around and observe the great beauty of the gardens.

GLORIOUS
Fantastic gardens. Both my husband and I really enjoyed the landscaping and the planting of all the different tulips, colour schemes and compatible plants. We were there 5 hours and had a ride on a boat along the canal. Definitely worth a visit but by dinnertime park was packed. Get there early and take warm clothes as it’s been really cold this week.

One to tick off the bucket list!
Fabulous experience, every bit as good if not better than the internet photos. A lot of visitors but well managed from the parking to the entry and the food service. Met several different nationalities also enjoying the experience.

Wonderful time
Spent about 3 hours here! It was a pleasure walking through the enormous gardens and experiencing more tulips than I knew could have ever existed. It was a trip for my wife but I think I enjoyed it more than her. I got a few pictures I will most likely be framing or have printed into canvas! I would highly recommend it! If you book through Tiqets you can have a bus and metro ticket combined!

Fabulous flowers!
Fabulous day out. Lots of visitors there but the place is huge and people keep moving as there are lots of paths and walkways. The flowers on display are stunning Lots of facilities too. Places to eat, tickets, gift shops etc. All very well organised

Arrive early !
We arrived early, before the gates opened - and would recommend this as the first hour before the coach loads arrived was amazing. Immaculately tended flower beds, beautiful and creative planting and lovely vista’s. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Keukenhof and would defo italy come here again .

joyful and uplifting
Spending a day at the Keukenhof was a highlight of our European trip! In fact, we liked it so much that we decided to return several days later for another long walk amidst the extraordinary colors. The combi-ticket, which buses you from Amsterdam or Haarlem right to the front door, makes it convenient and easy to visit. The landscapes are thoughtfully and creatively envisioned fresh each year, and the entire garden layout is designed to allow for a comfortable, accessible day of beauty. Pavilions give you an opportunity to learn the names of tulip varieties, there are multiple restaurants and gift shops, waterways and playgrounds--something for everyone.

Awesome
Had a wonderful day here and enjoyed the arrangements. Go in the morning so there’s more room to walk around and take pictures. I bought a combi ticked (bus and entrance) - a good idea. Not very enjoyable food, but the coffee is nice. So beautiful flowers, well worth a visit!

Amazing
We were 2 days ago. (19 April). The flowers and garden are amazing, a lot of flower varieties. We bought tickets in advance on internet and went on ourself by bus 854 from Leida. We didn't wait a lot for the bus. It wasn't the queue to entrance at all. This is very organized. In Holland have very useful app 9292 for public transport. In the garden were thousands people, a lot of organized groups. I wanted to buy bulbs but now it's too late, it's possible to buy plants in pots. I recommend it, it was worth going there.

Amazing
This garden is one of the best gardens you can go to. It’s gorgeous! It’s huge! It is crowded especially in the morning. Take the 852 bus to get there. You can find found and gift shops there.

Spectacular place to spend a day
Stunning grounds with lots of amazing photo opportunities. Loved the displays and varieties on offer. Even the rain couldn’t put a dampener on our day. Plenty of places to eat. Would recommend a trip on the whisper boat. Very peaceful.

Lots of fun
Beautiful place. Saw flowers I have never seen before, parking and entry was a breeze! This is not a tour of the flower fields. This is a beautiful manicured garden. Food, music, dry cool. The photos make it seem like you’re going to the fields. Is that is what ya want. This is not it but fantastic.

Wow, wow and WOW!
Absolutely stunning and amazing for the annual tulip festival. This was overwhelming in a good way. We were blown away by the sheer size and number of tulips all planted in gorgeous displays across this huge property. Great indoor exhibits as well as food and beverage and shopping opportunities. We absolutely loved it!!

Riot of colours
We ordered this tour well in advance and everything worked like clock work. You travel by bus from Leiden to Keukenhof. There was lots of people but the organisation worked very well. The whole garden is a wonder which one does not expect. The riot of flours cannot be explained in words. The variety of colours, flowers and plants boggles the mind. Put a day aside and get lost in the wonder of nature. Can understand that the information is that 7,000,000 bulbs are planted by hand, every year. Thank you for a very special highlight of our visit to the Netherlands

Do park and cycle round the fields. Arrive by bike if you can!
Really enjoyed the day, went on a Friday, around 9am entry. Wasn’t too busy at that time, when we left at 2pm there were more people. Stayed at a hotel locally and arrived by bike - would definitely recommend as there were so many cars and queues on the road to arrive and get into the car park. We cycled from Lisse on a cycle path that shadowed the motorway but was in a field next to, so completely safe and not unpleasant. What I didn’t expect is the little paths like stepping stones in a few places, a big playground and a petting zoo for kids. Tulips and park were lovely, enjoyed the hot waffle. The day wasn’t perfect weather and the boat had no protection and seats were wet when we got in so take something to sit on! We had waterproof trousers and despite looking silly we were the only ones not shivering by the end! The commentary was a bit light for what I was expecting, and also my headset didn’t work and I thought the speaker hadn’t started(were told would be after 4-5 mins anyway) so missed the intro. For €10 I’m not sure the boat was completely worth it, but equally maybe you miss out if you don’t! I would be happier to recommend if there was more information given, there were cushion on the seat or umbrellas/capes given out to those poor people without protection or a roof than can be put on on wet days. We then cycled around the fields afterwards, initially we weren’t sure how to pick a route, then the bike rental gave us a map and we realised there are 3 routes. We had e bikes so did the long route and was really nice to have the contrast of the san dunes also and there were much fewer tourists on that part of the route - I think most tend to do the short one. There were some people who maybe don’t cycle much and are a bit wobbly - and definitely a safe route if that is you, but bear in mind if you want to cycle off that the pace is slower on the little route part.

Large Tulip Garden
Large The Tulip flower garden , very easy to reach by public transportation. The facilities inside are also very complete, restaurants, kiosks, etc. The tulip collection is very complete.

Well worth a visit
We booked the option with bus transfer from Amsterdam. Reading other reviews, I am pleased that we decided to book for a bus at 10.00. It was busy, and raining at the time, but we waited less than 10 minutes. The park is definitely worth visiting. It is huge, with stunning displays of tulips and other bulbs. There are cafes with indoor and outdoor seating, plus exhibition halls with interesting displays. All staff were smartly dressed and helpful. However my 13 year-old grandson soon tired of tulips! So probably not an ideal trip for that age group.

Flowers , yes. Biking, no.
This is hands down the best place to experience the famous flowers of Holland. But, go early in the day. It gets very very crowded! I rented bikes and that was not such a rewarding experience. My bike was not such a great quality and very uncomfortable. What you saw on bike was not that great. I would not recommend renting a bike to see the fields unless you just enjoy biking, but bring your own bike! Using their transportation was seamless!

Gorgeous Tulips and More
We visited the Keukenhof Gardens last week, and even with the slight rain we had upon arrival when the park opened at 8am, the gardens exceeded every expectation!! Highly recommend arriving early before the crowds begin. We were blown away by the magnificent display upon entry. Over 7 million bulbs with so many varieties! Be sure to visit all of the pavilions to see the indoor displays as well. Willem-Alexander has rows and rows of gorgeous flowers indoors!! Beatrix has an Orchid room and Anthurium room. Oranje Nassau had all kinds of roses. We enjoyed coffee and Dutch apple pie at Wilhelmina. Don’t miss the windmill and farm animals. We loved our time at Keukenhof Gardens so much!! Only open March 21 thru May 12th this year!! Don’t miss it!

Worth a visit!
Beautiful gardens and gorgeous flowers but it was terribly crowded! I booked to go from Schiphol as I was staying in Utrecht. I suggest tht you go early if you can to avoid the crowds and one must definitely book ahead!

Fantastic gardens
The Keukenhof is a stunning garden and well worth visiting (when it is open), I will add it was super busy and we had to wait an hour for the bus home. There are loads of cafes/shops in the garden so you'll have plenty of chance to take in the views with a drink.

Simply the best (during the spring!!
I would recommend to stay locally near Lisse and enjoy the beach nearby and get the local bus 90 to Keukenhof gardens OR come straight from Amsterdam via buses etc. We first went to Keukenhof during the 1995 spring and I had such positive dream like memories of it as a child, finally decided to do a return there and it was truly extraordinary- the gardens are certainly up there as one of the world's finest. We managed to walk 21900 steps without getting very tired- as the tulips were a continuous inspiration. We took the whisper boat, with was enjoyable even if not all the tulips had bloomed/opened fully. It was still magnificent. We enjoyed the 75th year of the gardens and the exhibition at Juliana was a nice addition to the wonderful flowers.

So beautiful
These gardens are so beautiful, so many colours, but be aware in peak times there is many visitors here and it can get crowded

Avoid Keukenhof Express, but do go to Keukenhof!
Keukenhof gardens themselves, 5* Lots of other reviews will be more poetic, but it was v.clean, well maintained, flowers were spectacular and plenty space even if there are thousands of people around! HOWEVER, beware the Keukenhof Express from Amsterdam RAI / Europaplein - they are supposed to have timed tickets for the coaches to Keukenhof, that is nonsense; you get there and the staff say "just join the line, doesn't matter what time on ticket", so you join the massive queues (took us about 1h10m to get on the coach and that was standing room only!). For the way back, it was slightly better: they said that buses left every ten minutes ... but there was still another big queue and a 45minute wait. Both queues were poorly managed, with a few dodgers pushing in and it was difficult to tell where the queue was and for which bus? I would definitely visit Keukenhof Gardens again, but I would not recommend their approved Keukenhof Express coach run by Arriva.

See the Gardens!
What a beautiful village! Peaceful and breathtaking 360°. What a magical day we had! I wish we had done the Canal Ride while we were at the Gardens but we ran out of time. We got to do the hedge maze though! :)

Tulip Paradise
Caught the bus from Amsterdam Rai for the 8:30am slot on a Saturday in early April. The bus took around 35 mins to get there. It wasn't too busy when I arrived just after 9 and I got some breakfast (cost me around €7 for a small black coffee and vegan brownie). The gardens had enough to see you could easily spend a whole day in the area. I'd recommend visiting earlier on as it does get busy around midday and will be harder to get cute pictures. The gardens smell lovely and will be a visual treat. Lots of different food options scattered around the gardens too. I wanted to hire a bike and ride around the nearby tulip fields but unfortunately the tulips outside of the garden weren't in full bloom yet. Top tip if you are catching the bus back to a city, make sure you give yourself plenty of time! It was a long wait and a long queue and this can waste a lot of time.

Gorgeous flowers
I’ve been many times to see the flowers. Each visit is different. This visit will stand out for me. We arrived at 8 am as they opened. We were able to enjoy without crowds. So many photo opportunities with no people around. It was very cold on the boat tour. And somewhat difficult to get good pictures of the tulips. We were caution to stay seated, but that really didn’t happen. Might have been a little early for great viewing from the boats.

Fabulous feast for the senses!
A must see for flower lovers! It’s been on my travel list for so long and I’m so happy that I finally managed to go. It exceeded my expectations and was stunning. There were lots of cafes and toilet facilities which were spread throughout the park. We pre-booked the tickets with a combination of coach and admission and I’d recommend doing this. It was easy to find and get the coach and was a stress free experience. I thought it was very good value for money.

Amazing
Everything was beautifully manicured and in peak bloom today. Amazing varieties and so much more than just tulips! Food at the restaurants was good. Recommend getting there early to enjoy the smaller crowds. By noon it was quite busy, but still okay to get around and not feel claustrophobic.

Well worth a visit but allow extra time to get there.
Beautiful displays of tulips and other spring flowers, lots of different areas with some more formal and others more natural. There are lots of places to eat and drink with short queues, even when the park is busy. We got a transfer from Amsterdam RAI, booked on the Keukenhof website. It was well organised but absolutely heaving - we arrived at our allotted time (10:00) but there was a huge queue for the bus, I think we would have waited about 45 minutes if we hadn’t agreed to stand on the bus (and therefore jumped the queue). The bus was really slow too as the traffic was really heavy as we got close - allow extra time in your schedule as you may not get there when you plan! There were big crowds at the park but you could find areas that were quieter. We liked the Irene area where the cafe had plenty of seats and there was a mechanical organ playing. The map was fine but there weren’t really any descriptions for different areas (other than the maze, playground, cafes etc.). We visited on 6th April and most of the flowers were out, a few had already gone over. I think it was perfect timing!

Beautiful flower garden
All types of beautiful flowers, tons of small creeks, and 2 beautiful fountains. You can even walk on water! Well, kinda. Seeing everything takes 3-4 hours. Tons of opportunities for photos too! Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice afternoon.

A must
Out of this world experience. Not to be missed. Make sure you visit in April when tulips are in full bloom. A park like no other.

See the gardens - rain or shine!
Excellent place to walk around - whether there’s rain or sunshine in the forecast! This is such a beautiful place with unique exhibits every year. This was my second visit and worth the time!

A must see for a spring visit
We visited at the start of April and it was beautiful. So many wonderful displays and wonderful colours. Hyacinths smelt amazing and they and the daffodils were all over too. Everywhere you looked it was oh that’s lovely. The whole place is well thought out and constructed. Map and signage really useful and lots of great exhibits and buildings dotted around the site. Great walkways. Lovely photo opportunities. Windmill was great and a lovely boat with tulips on you could sit in too. Lots of oversized clogs ❤️ Great souvenirs reasonably priced. Food and drinks expensive but seems to be the case everywhere in Amsterdam. We booked in advance and had the ticket for bus too from outside the RAI.
